Perry Pears and Fine Perry Print

This is a limited edition giclee print from my oil painting of the same name and produced by the award-winning fine art printer Iris Print.
In autumn, I explored perry pears and fine perry in my research for the original painting. Tom Oliver of Oliver’s Cider Farm showed me all the different types of perry pear. This was followed by Perry Fest at the Hereford Cider Museum, and understanding the significance of this drink brought to these isles by the Romans. Here in Ledbury Perry Pear trees are often seen in the local farms. Just over the border in Gloucestershire is the National Perry Pears Centre.
Perry pears come in all shapes, sizes and colours, and I chose a copper skillet to provide a warm reflective surface and to contrast with the cooler yellows of the perry in champagne glasses. The painting celebrates this year’s harvest of perry pears and is part of my series of paintings focused on ‘A Taste of Herefordshire’.
The print is made using archival, premium-quality Canon Lucia Pigmented ink. It’s printed on 280gsm Archival Fine Art Paper, which ensures the minimum display life of 75-100 years under normal conditions. Each print is personally inspected, signed and numbered.
