As a child, I was fascinated by kaleidoscopes and their changing patterns. The sunlit reflections in this silver engraved bowl took me back to those years. I wanted to capture the way that the reflections constantly shifted as the light changed and the ambiguity about whether the fruit was real or just a reflection. Still life painting can freeze a moment in time but this painting froze several moments! The painting was originally prepared for a solo exhibition at Worcester Cathedral, England.
