Fruit Bowl and Stained Glass

Description

This painting is about the joy of colour. When I looked down on a bowl of ripe fruit one day the colours reminded me of stained glass. At the time I was preparing for a solo exhibition at Worcester Cathedral and so I explored the idea in paint. The “stained glass” is executed in thin transparent glazes and reflects the shapes of the fruit. This contrasts with the more opaque paint in the fruit bowl.
