The painting is framed in a bespoke hand-crafted wood frame from Hang it All Framers in Worcester. I use this frame on all my gold leaf paintings as it helps highlight the beauty of the gold leaf.
I love the iridescence of these beautiful and shy birds. I saw one locally this week on the canal towpath but I have not managed to catch them in a photo. I am therefore grateful to Les Liddle, a Yorkshire photographer, for the use of one his beautiful image of a kingfisher with its catch of the day.
