The Ombersley Flower Farm is nearby and one of my collector’s daughter runs it. The most magnificent flowers are grown there. Recently there has been a profusion of tulips and narcissi. Some of these delicate narcissi I have not seen before and their subtle shades of colour were a joy to paint. They also filled the studio with a heavenly scent. The reflections in the vase are of houses on the opposite side of the road – so town and country in one painting.
