Thank you for visiting my website and online shop. January was a month of planning and working with gold leaf in the studio. The gold provided a bright distraction from the weather outside.
February began with a talk and demonstration to the Ledbury Art Society about my gold leaf paintings. This invitation rekindled an interest in working in gold – ironically when the price of the leaf itself has never been so high! My journey has also taken me to the National Gallery and the Courtauld Institute to see incredible examples of Renaissance art and to research into different types of gilding.

‘Oh Wow!’ Rose on Gold (see above)
Oil painting on imitation gold leaf, 20x20 inches/51x51 cm on cradled gesso board. Price unframed £700
Oh Wow! is actually the name of the rose which I had admired during my time in Spetchley Gardens during my artist residency. I have now planted it in our garden in Ledbury. This sunlit symphony of magenta is one of the largest gold leaf oil paintings I have done in recent years. I used cradled board so that it can be hung directly on a wall but I am happy to arrange framing if you prefer.

Lilies never fail to fascinate me with their beautiful shapes and colours. This dappled gold background has the effect of throwing the flowers forward.
Next exhibition
March 2026 – Artist of the month at the Nest at Little Verzons Farm. The exhibition will be in the Nest Café just outside Ledbury on the Hereford Road. The Nest offers a number of local shops including a deli stocking local food and drink and a nursery. The venue began as the Handmade Scotch Egg Company and grew. It also has short walks in the grounds. Apart from setting up the exhibition I won’t be hosting it. The adjoining shop will also be stocking my cards.
