Invitations to exhibitions and new paintings
October has been a busy month in the studio preparing for the Barbourne Artists’ Christmas Fair this month (details below) and the Bath Art Fair in February.
New gold leaf paintings
Following a mini gold rush on my gold paintings this year I have been replenishing my stocks and there are two new examples here. Both paintings are 8×8 inches/20x20cm, oil painting on board with 23 carat gold leaf. Framed in a double black and gold frame. Price £350

Magenta Peonies on Gold- inspired by some peonies at Spetchley Park Gardens.
Strawberries on Gold – the last of the season
A return to the iris
Purple Iris at Spetchley. Oil on board. 24×18 inches/61x46cm. Price £650 unframed. Framing can be arranged.

The sheer beauty of irises never ceases to amaze me which is why I keep returning to them. This painting was weeks in the making as I worked to capture the flower’s subtle tones and patterning. I am thinking about doing a limited edition giclee print of this painting so let me know if you are interested in knowing more

Here on my website and for sale at the Barbourne Christmas fair is a selection of my current floral limited edition prints (peonies and tulips) both mounted and wrapped and framed. (plus flat rate postage of £15) or pick up from Worcester.
Barbourne Christmas Fair
Magdelene Rooms, St George’s C of E Church, St George’s Square, Worcester. Friday 29th November from 3pm-7pm and Saturday 30th November from 10-4.
Six Barbourne Artists – Painters Cherrie Mansfield, Felicity Osborne, Margaret Powell, Caroline Hall and me plus Jane Arthur a textile artist will be exhibiting again during Worcester’s Victorian Christmas Fair weekend. Paintings, prints, textiles, cards, notepads and jewellery will be on sale to suit every budget. As Worcestershire Open Studios didn’t take place this year this fair offers an opportunity for people to buy direct from artists. I will be having a relocation sale of some of my earlier paintings which are all framed and ready to take away plus some examples of my newer work.
Francesca Currie Exhibition
Finally, our daughter Francesca Currie has an exhibition entitled Ethereal Landscapes at the Lambert Fine Art in Bell Court, Stratford Upon Avon from November 2nd– 8th November. This is the first solo show hosted by this new gallery and shows Francesca’s new body of work. Readers of this newsletter are warmly invited to attend the private view on Saturday 2nd November from 4-7pm and meet the artist or visit during the week.
With best wishes,
Nicola
