When I was doing an artist residency at Spetchley Park Gardens (2021-2024), I was provided with a constant and inexhaustible source of inspiration. This tree peony is one example. I created the painting for a solo exhibition – A Profusion of Peonies – to celebrate the peony season in the gardens. The central peony is caught just as it is opening out. The smooth magenta petals are contrasted with the impasto orange/yellow centres. Please contact me if you are interested in buying this painting.
