Welcome to my new autumn paintings. I write this in the studio as the golden leaves on the embankment fall in the autumn sunshine. This is the time of year when the clocks change and I have to chase every ray of natural light.
Autumn art update
As promised in my October blog I spent the month studying, sampling and painting a harvest of fruits this autumn. The month began with another visit to Tom Oliver’s Cider Farm – only this time it was Perry I was learning about. This was followed by Perry Fest at the Hereford Cider Museum and understanding the significance of this drink brought to these isles by the Romans. Pears were followed by quinces and I just caught the end of the damson harvest too.

At the Hereford Cider Museum we saw many beautifully engraved historic perry glassware. The glasses in this painting are for champagne but work well for perry. The pears celebrate the variety of colour, size and textures of perry pears.
Perry Pears Print
I will be doing a print of this painting for Christmas sales. The cost of a Fine Art Giclee signed and numbered print 30x40cm with a border will be £60. This includes postage. The print will be rolled and put in a cardboard tube and posted first class. I can arrange a mount and frame for the print if required. Please contact me direct for this.

I caught the end of the damson harvest and enjoyed painting the subtle blue hues of these beautiful fruits gathered from Little Verzons Farm near Ledbury. I will be exhibiting at Little Verzons next March

A return to one of the oldest fruits on earth. I have painted quinces for the past few years and had none left in stock. I enjoy painting these sculptural fruits which remind me of Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth forms. I love their subtle yellow hues and their knobbly shapes.
