This week in the studio I have been springing into spring with a new flower series. This calla lilies painting is one of the first of a new set of spring flower paintings designed for my forthcoming exhibition at Spetchley Park Gardens in May. Entitled – A Many Splendoured Spring, the exhibition will take place from the 23rd-27th May in the Learning Centre at the Gardens.

Calla lilies often feature in my work as  I am captivated by their unfolding shapes and lit and shadow areas. This painting started its life as a small single flower and this month graduated to a floral composition. Further paintings of lilies are planned this month as well as narcissi, tulips, crocus and blossom paintings.

The exhibition at Spetchley will bring together a selection of my most recent paintings, new limited edition prints and new fine art cards. You can buy my limited edition prints on this website here. I am also planning a new harlequin tulip print in addition to this selection. If you would like to receive news of new paintings, prints and cards and invitations to private views please contact me to go on my newsletter list.

Spetchley Park Gardens opens to the public next week and I am continuing my residency in the gardens for another year. The gardens provide a constant source of inspiration and source material and I am grateful to Henry Berkeley, the owner, and to the staff of the park and gardens for their interest and support.
