Thank you to the many people who came to my oil paintings exhibition at Spetchley Park Gardens last week. The weather was good and more than 430 people came to see my show – A Profusion of Peonies. The exhibition is over but the peonies are still in bloom in the gardens and are a magnificent sight.
It was lovely to welcome so many old friends and new visitors to the show. If you arrived when the room was very busy I apologise if I missed welcoming you. One of the most popular paintings displayed was the Coral Peonies on Gold shown in this picture. Another favourite was the Alpine Irises on Gold. The exhibition overlapped with an event for children in the gardens and many children came and did their own artwork on the children’s table. Some adults enjoyed ‘colouring’ too.
I would like to thank Sarah Bird and her team at Spetchley for all their help and support in making the exhibition such a success. It is a huge privilege and pleasure to work as Artist in Residence at Spetchley Park Gardens.
